Neath First With Bioptics Digital Specimen System
DAAX Ltd has installed the first BIOPTICS Digital Specimen Radiography System in the UK at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, South Wales. The ‘Bioptics’ provides the highest quality images using AEC (Automatic Exposure Control) to determine time and kV settings.
The ‘Bioptics’ was introduced last November at Neath Port Talbot, Radiology Department on a ‘loan’ basis. As Department Head Angela Fuller explains, “The high quality images for core and lump biopsy, together with the high level of back up service from DAAX, led to the decision to purchase”.
Today, the ‘Bioptics’ is situated within the mammography suite where it is used by radiologists and breast surgeons for stereo and biopsy procedures.
Trevor Mitchell of DAAX adds “We are delighted that Neath chose the ‘Bioptics’ as it represents a real alternative to existing options and we expect it will be the first of many”.
